Hi – glad you’re back to posting again :) As usual, your post is very helpful! I’ve been deep conditioning (too much) lately and couldn’t figure why my hair wasn’t getting softer :) I stopped using products containing protein, thinking that was my problem. It looks like it’s time to pull out my Aubrey GBP and get some protein back in my life.
BTW – did you follow up w/a moisturizing conditioner?

thanks, Carla! honestly the only reason I did NOT follow up with a moisturizing condish is because the hair felt so incredibly soft. after the final rinse..didn’t want to over do it by overconditioning. Also, the stylers I would subsequently use were already packed with moisturizing ingredients, so it all worked out pretty well;)

I use The Sally’s generic version of Joico K PAC reconstructive conditioner for protein. It leaves my hair strong yet soft. I try to use a protein conditioner at least once a month.

I’m starting to think a protein treatment for Fro would be so beneficial…my hair has ALWAYS loved protein, and I’ve been stingy giving it, lol. those generic brands are right up my ally too…always forget about them..!
